Xenobioz VSTs

Lynx

Lynx is a synthesizer with 2 Unison oscillators with 7 voices each and 14 combined. It features a powerful wave editor that lets you draw and modify all the waveforms for both Oscillators and LFOs.

Lynx is made by custom modules coded in C++ especially for Lynx. Therefore it uses a lot less CPU than Most of the older xenobioz VSTs. The waveform editor is also far superior to all of the earlier xenobioz VSTs and is both easier to use and more powerful.

Features are:
  • 2 Drawable oscillators, each with up to 7 detunable voices for Unison.
  • A Wave Editor with many manipulation functions like:
    • FM.
    • Harmonics.
    • Random wave generation.
    • Noise Generation.
    • Add.
    • Multiply.
    • Cycle Combination.
  • Phase Distortion.
  • 2 LFOs with Envelope and Step mode (Changes value only on new note).
  • 2 ADSRs with adjustable curves.

Aegis

Aegis is inspired by the old Amiga 500 softsynth Sonix by Aegis. It's main features are the Drawable Oscillator and LFO waveforms and a special type of Phase Distortion.
Features:

  • 1 Drawable Oscillator. (128 samples).
  • 1 Drawable LFO, that can be used as an envelope.
  • ADSR with adjustable slopes.
  • Two types of Phase Distortion/Modulation.
  • A Low-Pass Filter.
  • Can add Harmonics to the Drawable waveform.
  • Waveform copy and paste.

    1. USING DULCET RIGHT NOW AND MUST SAY THAT IT IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN AAS STRING STUDIO BUT NEVER GOT TO MAKE IT SOUND AS NICE AS DULCET SOUNDS.
      FEELS ORGANIC AND FRESH!
      OHHH ME LIKE VERY MUCH

      THANK U SO MUCH XENOBIOZ

    2. Kruud has some inspiring sounds. thanks for the cool synth!

    3. Wow, dulcet is really nice. Definitely a step up from string studio.

Just missing one thing--microtuning. Nothing makes a modeling synth sound more real. I retrofitted it on both Prism and Steampipe. Dulcet would replace Steampipe in my setup if only it had xenharmonics.... And I'd gladly pay for it!

    4. Thanks, glad to hear you like it.
Micro tuning would be nice indeed. I hope I can add it some day, but it might take a long time til then.

      1. I would love to begin using your instruments, but Microsoft is refusing me access to the downloads for any of them. Please find a dropbox situation or some other that allows access without needing to involve ourselves with these nasty Microsoft people and whatever their game is this week!

      2. Ok, I'll add mirrors to the VST downloads. Thanks for informing me.

      3. Download mirrors now available

      4. Xenobioz, thanks so much for providing that alternate download mirror! I jumped right on it. With a synth name like 'kruud' my curiosity was killing me, and the instrument looks so well put together, too. I'm rather choosy with VSTi, but if it does become a staple, I always return before very long to support freeware builders. Cheers! --Tele

    5. Big C64 fan, so I grabbed Kruud. I'm fed up with the commercial C64 VSTi's crashing all the time. Kruud is super nice, but it doesn't seem to have a waveform-change step sequencer like retro-gsx does... thus I can't fathom how to make a Rob Hubbard style bass drum (which kind of starts with a saw for a split moment, then noise, then ends with a square wave). Xenobioz, any plans to implement a waveform-change step sequencer?

Does anyone have good Kruud patches, especially percussion?

      Cheers,
      DjLizard

      1. Thanks for your interest in kruud! I'm happy to hear you enjoy using it.

Wave sequencing is something I've been thinking about before.
But I was thinking I would leave it for the next version of kruud. But kruud2 might never get done. So I'll think about adding it to kruud one.

I also almost finished kruud+ which is a 3 oscillator synth similar to kruud. It can mix between the 3 oscillators but not as easy as a wave sequencer.

I might release more patches in the future.
But I won't make any updates in a while so you might have to wait a bit.

    6. I neglected to give it the proper amount of praise in my last post - I hope I didn't come off as a complainer because that's definitely not it. Kruud is actually freaking badass. I was just curious about the wave sequencer, is all. Thanks for replying so fast! Wonderful work.

    10. Hello! I have you VSTs; and they look great! The only problem is I don't know how to use them.

      :-)

I'm fairly new to using VSTs, and I LOVE it! But at this early stage in the game, I only use the VSTs that have a "presets" module visible in the container.

I have tried to research and learn by myslef how to use presets when there is no visible "presets" module; but I can't find anywhere online where anybody is addressing that very obvious issue.

I wonder if you would take a few moments to teach me this procedure, or at least point me in the right direction.

      thanks!
      Andy

      1. Hi Andy! What VST host software are you using? Some hosts will allow you to change presets even when there isn't a built in preset browser in the vst. I use Jeskola Buzz tracker and it does that. It's free also. But maybe there is a solution for you host too.

    11. Yes, I see now that my VST host does give me access to your presets. I can now fully enjoy your synths! Thanks!
